We’ve never much liked leaving our dog behind when we go out of town. But that changed when we started using The Doggie Chalet. For our Golden Doodle names Albie, The Doggie Chalet isn’t a place to board — it’s like a summer camp for dogs, even in winter!

Nick and his crew take care of the dogs as if they were their own pets. And the dogs? Albie comes home happy to see us, but we know that, in the bubble over his head, he’s dreaming of The Doggie Chalet and the pals he made. He then sleeps for the next few days — so pooped out is he from the blast he had.

When we saw our Pippi in her very first video that very first night, it's fair to say a tear or two was shed--the happiest ones imaginable. And while you'll be so very happy to reunite with your pup at vacation's end, know that your dog won't necessarily want to leave the Chalet just yet--and will absolutely look forward to the next stay.

Simply, we can't recommend The Doggie Chalet highly enough.

I have an incredibly busy work and travel schedule and Nick and The Doggie Chalet have been a life-saver! I would never leave my fur baby in anyone else's hands! Knowing he is not only safe but having fun in a great environment is worth everything! 5 stars for The Doggie Chalet!

The first time Alex went to the Doggie Chalet, we got stuck out of the country and he had to stay a couple of extra weeks. It was such a relief to be able to see him running, jumping and playing on Instagram! That said, we still felt nervous about him being away from us for so long. But when we picked him up, he was totally happy and healthy, and adjusted to life back home easily.

Alex has since stayed for many long weekends and overnights. Each time Nick pulls up to the house to get him, he can barely contain his excitement. Alex loves going to the Doggie Chalet; he is exhausted and content when he returns home, and we trust the care he is given completely.

The convenience of Doggie Chalet’s pickup and drop off at our home is also incredible. We no longer have anxiety around planning travel, knowing how easy it is to book him in, and that all Alex’s needs will be met, professionally and with loving care.

For context, my husband and I don’t plan on having kids so our pup is an extra big deal in our lives. When it came time to leave him for the first time we really struggled to find a place we were comfortable with. We live in JC but expanded our search to all of North Jersey. Our dog is very social with both people and dogs so the idea of him being locked away and alone for our trip wasn’t going to work for us or him. We truly spent two months visiting kennels, homestays, and dog hotels before finding the Doggie Chalet.

When we took our pup for his “interview” Nick’s knowledge of dog behavior immediately put me at ease. Adriana answered all of my questions and unlike other places we toured didn’t make me feel crazy for being so concerned.

When Nick came to pick up him up I’m sure he had a schedule to keep, but he paused and asked if we were finished saying goodbye before taking him. Little things like that showed me that they understood that they weren’t just watching a dog, but caring for our family member.

While we were away they posted loads of pictures to instagram so we could see him playing and relaxing in his home away from home. When he got dropped back off I could tell he had fun there and maybe even had his own little vacation.

I am so happy we found the Doggie Chalet and recommend them wholeheartedly! Their pricing is reasonable too and pick-up/ drop-off is an amazing service for city-dwellers.

What a find! After recently moving to Montclair from California, one of our main concerns was finding a cage-free boarder that lets our pooch roam and sleep wherever his little Cockapoo heart desires. Enter Doggie Chalet. Our dog loves it here, and Nick and his family treats him so well. Facebook updates (pictures and video) keep us apprised of their romps through the woods, which is a great feature. Pick up and drop off is affordable and very convenient - and Griffin returns happy and tired. Highly recommended!

From our initial meeting, we felt very comfortable with the facility and their boarding environment for our dog Zilly.  They make sure to consistently post on social media so you can check in with your pup while you’re away.  Also, their pick up/drop off services makes the entire experience so convenient and relaxing.  We knew we could enjoy our trip because Zilly was in great hands - she came home tired from her week of fun but most importantly happy. We will definitely use their services again! Thanks so much for taking such great care of our girl!

I know that when my 2 pups spend time at the doggie chalet they are in good hands, Well taken care of, loved, fed, they get to play with other pups but are always supervised and watched over.  It has always Been important for my that my dogs go to a place that is kennel- free, get outside, have fresh air, etc.. when we have to leave them for vacations.. when I had my first daughter 6 years ago and she was early, I called nick and he was able to accommodate us and watch my pup no questions asked, no stress or worry.  I knew he was in good hands while we adjusted to being parents earlier then expected.  I have yet to meet anyone who Cares about my guys as lovingly as they do.
